Review of Xiaomi 11T Pro - a new song in the old way! Keep 120W!
The flow of new products from Xiaomi does not stop. The company with great diligence continues to release new models that expand existing lines. Remember, in April this year we were shown the cool flagship Mi 11 Pro? So, six months later, a simplified model with the prefix T came out - Xiaomi 11T Pro. As we know, under this designation, “affordable flagships” are produced - phones that offer top-end features, but at the same time do not require you to pay a fortune for themselves. Whether Xiaomi 11T Pro deserves your attention - let's find out in today's review.

Well, friends, the purely technical characteristics of the Xiaomi 11T Pro are impressive. Here we have an AMOLED screen with many additional chips, and a 108-megapixel main camera, and innovative 120W fast charging technology. Everything is even too good, considering that in our hands is not a full-fledged, but a “junior” flagship. This suggests that there is a catch somewhere. Let's figure it out.
In the package, as always, nothing new and interesting. The packaging is white, looks neat and minimalistic. In the box we find the phone itself, a USB cable, a power supply, a paper clip to remove the tray, a transparent case and documentation. Company case of mediocre quality. The charger is very weighty and bulky, but this minor inconvenience can be forgiven because of the lightning-fast, as we are promised, charging. By the way, Xiaomi is a big plus for immediately adding a 120W power supply to the kit. If you separately purchase a charger with such power, then it will cost 40-50 dollars and more. There is nothing more to discuss in the configuration.
The appearance of Xiaomi 11T Pro can be described in one word - not bad. The front camera is located in the center (of course, there are no under-screen or retractable structures here). The thickness of the frames is within the acceptable range. The main camera block is neat: we see three modules, and on the side there is a pretentious inscription “108Mp Al Camera”. In the lower left corner is the name of the company and the prefix "5G".
The back cover of Xiaomi 11 Pro is made of glass, and the side faces are plastic. Three colors are presented - gray, light blue and white. All colors look pretty: simple, but tasteful. The fingerprint scanner occupies a position on the side face. The sub-screen sensor would have pleased more, but then the cost of the device would have increased. Dimensions are 164.1mm x 76.9mm x 8.8mm and weigh 204 grams. The phone is big, but we are no longer used to it. You can’t fault the design of Xiaomi 11T Pro, because everything is done beautifully, stylishly and unobtrusively. In appearance, the smartphone resembles the Poco F3.
Unfortunately, there were some downsides. The phone did not receive a 3.5 mm headphone jack, and there is no adapter included. SIM card tray is not hybrid, memory card is not supported.
We are met by an AMOLED display with a resolution of 2400x1080 pixels. The refresh rate is 120 Hz, and this is the first negative that can be identified regarding the screen of Xiaomi 11T Pro. After all, last year's smartphone Mi 10T Pro was updated at a frequency of 144 Hz. But in practice, it is almost impossible to see the difference: the interface of the novelty works very quickly and smoothly.
Peak brightness is 1000 nits, and this is an excellent indicator. In sunny weather, using the phone is quite comfortable. In the list of specifications, we also see that the Xiaomi 11T Pro is capable of displaying 1 billion colors. Dolby Vision and HDR10+ technologies are supported, which you can appreciate while watching video content. Another of the modes brought Sunlight mode 3.0 (auto-adjustment of the highest level of brightness) and Reading mode 3.0 (pumped reading mode). The phone is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus.
On paper, the characteristics of the screen look cool, and in reality, the smartphone did not disappoint. Saturation and brightness are more than enough, viewing angles are good. The AMOLED matrix is indescribably pleasing, because the same Mi 10T Pro was equipped with IPS. You already know the advantages of Amoled: deep colors, energy efficiency, support for Always on Display. Yes, yes, we have not forgotten about the significant disadvantages: PWM, of course, can cause certain inconveniences, but DC Dimming comes to the rescue.
Xiaomi 11T Pro is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 5G processor with Adreno 660 video accelerator. Eight cores of Kryo 680 produce different frequencies: one core runs at a maximum frequency of 2.84 GHz, three cores at 2.42 GHz and four cores at 1.80 GHz .
The Snapdragon 888 5G is a relatively new chip from Qualcomm and, of course, it suffers from a lot of heat in games. This situation is observed with all fresh processors from this company. As we remember, the flagship Snapdragon 888+ 5G produced just terrible heat in Mi Mix 4 , which made it simply impossible to play with maximum fps. In Xiaomi 11T Pro, the situation is less painful, but still unpleasant: during the games of Genshin Impact and Shadow Legends, the smartphone rarely heated above 50 ° C, and the average frame rate was at 60 FPS. There is throttling, and quite strong. In general, you can play at maximum speeds, but during long games you will still swear at heating. For a moment, during our tests, the maximum figure reached 56°C. Such overheating will definitely affect the battery.
From the negative we turn to the positive, namely the work of Miyuai. So far there are no questions here. 11T Pro runs on MIUI 12.5 under the eleventh Android. Surprisingly, we did not notice significant glitches, freezes and crashes. Everything is smooth and more or less stable. Of course, in future assemblies, the optimization will be improved, and the developers will eliminate some small jambs. If the topic of stability is very important to you, you can wait a month or two and not buy a phone at the start of sales. But again, I repeat: even now there are no serious complaints about the firmware. By the way, we have not seen such trash with a shell as in Redmi 10 in any new product from Xiaomi.
On a more pleasant note, the company says the 11T series will receive updates to the latest Android for three years. Security patches will come for 4 years. I am glad that the phone will not have to be changed in two years. So if you are looking for a device for long-term use, take a look at the regular Xiaomi 11T and the Pro version. Iron will also remain relevant for a few more years.
Xiaomi 11T Pro can be considered a worthy camera phone. The main module is as much as 108 megapixels with f / 1.8 aperture and a pixel size of 0.7µm. There is an 8-megapixel wide lens with a 120° field of view and a 5-megapixel telephoto lens. The camera takes quite good photos with good detail and contrast. The color reproduction is correct, the pictures are not faded, but at the same time not oversaturated. But don't expect super quality. In good light conditions, the 11T Pro shoots at the level of competitors: neither worse nor better. There is no particular difference compared to 11T, although the module is weaker there.
With night shooting, the smartphone also copes without problems. Pleased with clear detail and a minimum amount of noise. The only point is that the light sources may not be correctly defined, which is why we get glare and light.
Let's move on to shooting video. The maximum quality is 8K@30fps, you can also record in 4K at 60fps. The color reproduction is correct, unlike the same Xiaomi 11T. Sound writes just fine.
The front camera is 16MP with f/2.5 aperture and, frankly, it's nothing special. The quality of the front camera is the same as that of other smartphones from this price category. You can take normal selfies for social networks without any problems.
We will immediately announce two significant advantages of Xiaomi 11T Pro - a cool vibration motor and awesome sound. The phone has stereo speakers, and not simple ones, but from Harman Kardon. You may have already guessed that the designation of the company is pure marketing. The Xiaomi 11T didn't get the Harman Kardon label, but the sound quality is just as great. In short, in terms of sound, the novelty is significantly superior to its competitors.
We are moving towards the notorious proximity sensor. This is already a common problem in Xiaomi phones, and the 11T Pro is no exception. The sensor still works just as badly: there are no cardinal problems, such as those of Redmi Note 10, but there are periodic glitches. The proximity sensor of the Xiaomi 11T Pro is almost the same as that of the Poco F3.
We will not dwell on other communication technologies for a long time, since everything is in order with them. We have Bluetooth 5.2, support for 5G, GPS, Wi-Fi 6, infrared port and NFC module.
Xiaomi 11T Pro has pioneered 120W fast charging. The phone is equipped with proprietary HyperCharge technology, which allows you to charge the battery up to 100% in just 17 minutes. We have tested all these moments and we can say for sure that the smartphone needs no more than 20 minutes to fully charge. This is cool in the present, but how such power will affect the battery in the future is a big question. The company claims that when using 120W charging, the battery will lose only 20% of its capacity in 2 years. This scenario is quite acceptable.
The battery capacity is 5000 mAh. On the numbers, this is a lot, but in reality the phone lived on a single charge for only 7 hours and 58 minutes (games, videos, performance tests). If the device is used only for calls and viewing text content on the Internet, the battery life can be extended to two days or more.
Here we come to the final. We only have to discuss the price of new items. For the basic modification of 8/128 GB, they ask for 649 euros. A variant with the same amount of RAM, but with 256 GB of permanent memory will cost 699 euros. And the top-end option - 12/256 GB, costs 749 €. Agree that the prices are quite high, so it is better to order the device on AliExpress. In Europe, the price tag is always significantly overpriced.
Xiaomi 11T Pro can be safely considered for purchase, provided that the price does not exceed $550-600. This is the price expected in Chinese online stores. The start of sales is scheduled for September 23. The phone offers excellent specifications: high-quality AMOLED screen, 108-megapixel camera, 8/12 GB of RAM and 128/256 GB of permanent memory, fast charging 120W. Yes, the processor is still very hot, and the proximity sensor is still buggy. But these problems are found in every new device from Xiaomi. So if you are looking for a current pre-flagship smartphone, Xiaomi 11T Pro will be a good choice.
