Як завжди, ми починаємо з конфігурації Xiaomi 14 Pro. На відміну від Xiaomi 14, версія Pro поставляється в суцільній чорній коробці. За словами виробника, зміна кольору з білого на чорний має підвищити преміальну якість мобільного пристрою. Але це правда, нікому не потрібні дрібниці.

 

 

Усередині коробки нас зустрічає повний комплект - величезний блок живлення на 120 Вт, затискач для SIM-лотка, звичайний корпус гідної якості і USB-кабель. Не будемо довго зупинятися на комплектації, так як все це ми вже бачили в Xiaomi 14 (змінилася тільки потужність адаптера зарядки).

Appearance is one of the key differences between the Pro version and the standard version. The first thing that catches your eye is the curved screen. Yes, yes, we have a display with rounded edges again, which not everyone likes (and we are included). Well, agree that the Xiaomi 14 flat screen is much more practical and convenient, although it looks simpler. Okay, let's not start that song again.

 

 

The dimensions of the Xiaomi 14 Pro cannot be called compact - they are 161.4 x 75.3 x 8.5 mm with a weight of 223 (230) grams. The smartphone is indeed very heavy and bulky, it is not very comfortable to hold in the hand. And rounded edges definitely do not contribute to ergonomics.

 

 

The standard of moisture protection has not changed, but the materials of the case have been slightly improved. The glass cover has not gone anywhere, but in addition to the aluminum frame, there is now a titanium one. But you should not be happy, because titanium frames are available only in the exclusive Titanium Edition version. It costs a good 800 dollars, and it will most likely be sold only in China.

 

 

The colors of Xiaomi 14 Pro are very elegant and should emphasize the status of the user - they are white, black, gray and dark green. The titanium version has an orange rim around the camera unit, making it even more bulky and noticeable.

 

 

In general, impressions of the design of the Xiaomi 14 Pro are mixed. The phone is big, heavy and uncomfortable. Xiaomi 14 is still more optimal due to its compact dimensions and flat screen. And the titanium frame of the case in the Xiaomi 14 Pro will still not be available to us.

 

 

Screen

Significant improvements also affected the Xiaomi 14 Pro display. First, the diagonal has increased - 6.73 inches instead of 6.36 inches in the base model. This could be called an advantage, but let's not forget about the increased dimensions. I think that 6.36 inches will be enough for most users. Manufacturers really like to turn a smartphone into a mini-tablet, especially in Pro versions.

 

 

If the diagonal has increased, the resolution has also become higher - 1440 by 3200 pixels. The pixel density is 522 ppi (instead of 460 ppi in Xiaomi 14). This is enough for your head, the screen is incredibly detailed and contrasty. The refresh rate at the previous level is 120 Hz, as is the main feature of the 14-series - a peak brightness of 3000 nits.

 

LTPO technology is also there. But the name of the matrix has changed a little: in the Pro version it is now called AMOLED, and in the basic model it was OLED. In fact, there is no difference. You can read about the differences of matrices in our separate material .

 

 

By the way, the screen of the Xiaomi 14 Pro is protected by Xiaomi Longjing Glass, a proprietary tempered glass. This is something new.

 

The quality of the Xiaomi 14 Pro display is truly stunning. When you look at this beautiful, albeit uncomfortable, rounded screen with high resolution and peak brightness, only positive impressions remain. Well, the diagonal is a matter of taste.

 

 

 

Performance, memory and software

The "stuffing" of the Xiaomi 14 Pro is not at all different from the Xiaomi 14. Here we have the latest and most powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, the capabilities of which we already talked about in the review of the standard version. In Xiaomi 14 Pro, the situation has not changed much: except that the heating is a little less, since the large dimensions allow the cooling system to be fully implemented.

 

 

In AnTuTu, the Xiaomi 14 Pro scores just under 2 million points. The result is great, but you shouldn't rely too much on it. As we have already said, the most important role is played by the temperature and other conditions under which the testing was carried out.

 

But don't worry: the smartphone performs well not only in everyday use, but also in games at ultra-high settings. Although there are small nuances related to throttling and overheating.

 

 

Memory modifications are king: from 12/256 GB to 16 GB/1 TB. Of course, the maximum version is quite expensive, but you can choose the appropriate modification for you, based on your intensity of use and available budget.

 

Xiaomi 14 Pro

 

With software, the Xiaomi 14 Pro is the same as the Xiaomi 14. It is Android 14 with the new HyperOS firmware. Let's not repeat ourselves and better move on.

 

 

Cameras

The main camera of the Xiaomi 14 Pro has been significantly improved compared to the regular version. The main innovation is a variable aperture f/1.4-f/4.0. We have already seen something similar in the Xiaomi 13 Ultra , which has the proud title of a cool camera phone. We will not make long introductions and immediately comment on the operation of the main sensor of Xiaomi 14 Pro and show photo examples.

 

 

The variable aperture really allows you to achieve impressive results. The pictures on the 14 Pro are better than on the usual fourteenth model, but they still fall short of the 13 Ultra. Only the 14 Ultra can be a worthy rival to the Xiaomi 13 Ultra, and we are all looking forward to this model.

 

 

But the telephoto lens and ultra-wide Proshka are the same as in the basic version. In terms of technical characteristics, they are absolutely identical, and in fact the difference is imperceptible. All example images can be seen below.

 

 

Xiaomi 14 Pro records video on the main camera in maximum 8K quality with 24 frames per second, which is no different from its younger brother.

 

 

The front camera is also similar – it is a 32-megapixel sensor with 4K@30/60fps video recording. Selfies are pleasant and definitely do not cause any negative emotions.

 

Small camera summaries: Xiaomi 14 Pro shows one of the best results in its price segment, but it still can't beat Xiaomi 13 Ultra or Oppo Find X6 Pro . For amateur purposes, the capabilities of the camera will be enough with your head, and even professional shooting will be successful.

 

 

 

Autonomy

It remains to talk about the battery life of the Xiaomi 14 Pro, announce the price and sum up. The battery capacity is 4880 mAh, which is much more than the younger version. And let us remind you that the diagonal of the screen has increased, and therefore the power consumption has also increased. It is quite surprising that the manufacturer did not add the standard 5000 mAh.

 

 

In general, there are no complaints about the autonomy of the Xiaomi 14 Pro. You will easily have enough smartphone for a day even with active use. And if you don't hang around in it for a long time, the device will work for a day and a half on one charge.

 

 

The availability of 120-watt charging is pleasing: in just 18-20 minutes, you will fully charge the Xiaomi 14 Pro battery. No boring waiting. With wireless 50-watt charging, everything is not so rosy anymore - it takes about 40 minutes to charge up to 100%.

Here we are at the finish line. Let's announce the Chinese price tag of Xiaomi 14 Pro. The price of this device in the Celestial Empire starts at approximately 650-680 dollars. The titanium version, as we have already said, is much more expensive. But these prices will tell us little, because the future global car will be significantly more expensive. Knowing the markups of the international market, it is possible to predict a price increase of 20-30%.

 

 

At just under $700, it's a great buy. But we are sure that few of you will want to buy a Chinese model and upgrade to a global one. Although it is profitable, it causes a lot of problems. In the global market, the Xiaomi 14 Pro will be very expensive, and you need to carefully compare this smartphone with its competitors (most of which are not even launched yet) before purchasing.

 

We will not talk about the comparison of Xiaomi 14 Pro with Apple iPhone 15 Pro , since these are two completely different niches. The comparison withGoogle Pixel 8 Pro is also somewhat inappropriate. What you need to compare the new product with is Chinese flagships, such as, for example, OnePlus 12 and vivo X100 Pro. But let's wait for these devices first.

 

 

But we did not answer another important question: what is better to buy - Proshka or the regular version? If you are not engaged in professional photography and videography and you do not need a huge screen, the choice is obvious. Of course, this is a compact Xiaomi 14.
