Samsung Galaxy S24 - date of presentation, orders and sales from insiders

Earlier than the Galaxy S23, and in a different location

According to an insider report, the Samsung Galaxy S24 smartphones will be announced on January 17, 2024 in San Jose, California, USA. Samsung usually holds its Galaxy Unpacked event in New York, but the Galaxy Unpacked 2024 event for the Galaxy S24 could be geographically closer to Apple.

Customers will be able to pre-order the Samsung Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+ and Galaxy S24 Ultra on January 18, with pre-ordered phones starting to arrive between January 26 and 30. Everyone else will be able to buy the Galaxy S24 from January 30, 2024.

Samsung considered San Francisco and Seoul as potential locations for the Galaxy S24 launch, but ultimately decided to hold the event in San Jose due to its close partnership with Google and competition with Apple. The company is launching the Galaxy S24 two weeks earlier than the Galaxy S23 to boost revenue for the first quarter of the year. The company seems to have settled on a timeline where sales peak in the first and third quarters of each year thanks to the launch of the Galaxy S and Galaxy Z series phones.

While pricing for the Galaxy S24 series has yet to be revealed, Samsung is expected to keep prices similar to the Galaxy S23 series. This means that the price of the Galaxy S24 can start from $900, and the price of the Galaxy S24+ and Galaxy S24 Ultra - $1,000 and $1,200, respectively.
