You can find a full comparison of Xiaomi Redmi 3S and Meizu m3s smartphones on our Youtube channel. And in this article, we will exclusively compare the capabilities of the cameras of these two hot state employees. And before proceeding directly to comparing the quality of images obtained from both tested smartphones, let us recall what kind of cameras are installed in Meizu m3s and Xiaomi Redmi 3s.

Redmi 3s vs Meizu m3s

Xiaomi Redmi 3s received a 13 megapixel main camera with a Samsung S5K3L8 sensor and 5-element optics, the aperture of which is F / 2.0. As for the Meizu m3s, its main camera is also equipped with a 13 MP sensor, the manufacturer of which is unknown (most likely, also from Samsung), and a similar 5-element optics, but darker, since its aperture is F / 2.2. Both smartphones received a PDAF phase focusing system, which also works in Redmi 3s when recording video.

The front cameras of both state employees received 5 megapixel modules, but there are also differences here, both in the optics themselves (here the Xiaomi front camera has darker optics - F / 2.2 for Redmi 3s versus F / 2.0 for Meizu m3s), and in the sensors themselves. Our Redmi 3s sample uses an OV5670 sensor from OmniVision for the front camera. The same one was used in the Meizu MX5 smartphone, where it performed quite well. It was not possible to find out which sensor our second state employee received, but we assume that it is somewhat simpler, and further you will understand why.

After reviewing sample photos from the main cameras of the tested smartphones taken in daylight, we agreed that Redmi 3s shoots much better. The pictures from his camera turned out to be clearer, and the detail of objects turned out to be significantly higher than in the photos from the Meizu m3s camera. The state employee from Xiaomi surpassed its opponent both in color reproduction and in exposure accuracy, although the white balance in the pictures of both smartphones deviated from the norm - in the case of Xiaomi in a colder shade, and in the case of Meizu - in a warmer one. And only in photos taken at night, Meizu m3s was able to score the so-called goal of prestige, showing higher clarity and more accurate exposure.

In terms of front cameras, the superiority of Redmi 3s was noticeably even stronger, while Meizu m3s lost on all counts: clarity, exposure, noise, etc.

As for shooting video, the picture is reversed. Now Meizu m3s showed a clear superiority over its rival, demonstrating a higher quality of shooting. Even the presence of the auto focus feature did not help Redmi 3s even catch up with its opponent, since the auto focus constantly failed and we had to use the touch focus. We also note the better work of digital image stabilization in Meizu m3s, and higher sound quality when recording video.

Findings:

Thus, if you mainly take pictures, and especially with the front camera, then Redmi 3s will be the best choice of these two models. Please note that Meizu m3s provides more options when taking photos in manual mode, which can compensate for the shortcomings of its camera in automatic mode. But this will only help those who are far from new to photography and know how ISO, shutter speed and exposure affect the final result.

Well, if you prefer to record the best moments of your life more on video, then you should pay attention to Meizu m3s.
