YouTube Vanced is dead. Long live YouTube reVanced
YouTube Vanced has an unofficial successor.
The development of the alternative client YouTube Vanced was discontinued in March of this year, due to legal problems - it was "covered" by Google. But not so long ago, a viable alternative appeared in the face of YouTube reVanced. According to the developers, the new project has absolutely nothing to do with the original Vanced.
The first beta version of the application appeared on June 15, and already offers key features from YouTube Vanced, such as no ads and playing videos in a floating window. Of course, the new application is still far from the original Vanced, but, firstly, this is only a beta version, and secondly, the project is actively developing, and in the future the number of functions will only grow.
It is also noteworthy that reVanced can be installed not as a separate application, but as an add-on to the official YouTube client.
The reVanced application is able to work with the MicroG service from the developers of the original Vanced. It allows you to access Google services in unofficial services, or on devices that did not originally have these services (we all know which company's devices we are talking about).
I wonder how long the new project can hold out, and whether Google will shut it down, like its predecessor.
